Baker Tilly's Corporate Finance team successfully assisted ENGIE Energie Nederland during the acquisition process of two green gas facilities in the Netherlands. The two sites in Hardenberg and Alkmaar together have a maximum annual production capacity of 137 GWh, strengthening ENGIE's position as a leader in European green gas production and supply.
ENGIE Energie Nederland, part of the listed ENGIE Groep, is an energy supplier with a focus on sustainability. For example, ENGIE supplies 100% green electricity from the Netherlands to its customers. In addition, ENGIE invests in biological gas, which is produced from biological residual streams. The company maintains offices in Zwolle, the Netherlands.
The transaction
ENGIE has acquired the green gas installations in Hardenberg and Alkmaar. ENGIE uses these installations to strengthen its position as green gas market leader in Europe. In addition, the installations contribute to ENGIE's sustainability goals, including its ambition to become completely CO2 neutral by 2045.
